We would like to point out that the main idea of The Big Gift List is to allow you to post a list of the items you would like; but still maintaining the surprise aspect. If you would like to use this new feature it can be enabled and disabled whenever you like on any of your lists, simply modify/edit your list to see the new option. Well we've made a few improvements to help you out. As you type (or paste) a web address into the form for adding an item (Wish list, gift list, or bookmarklet) the website will check the validity of the address automatically in the background. If the url is valid a little tick is displayed. If for some reason the web site you entered couldn't be verified a red cross is displayed. If the website isn't verified you will be informed that the url is wrong and you can correct it before adding the item. Contribution items are for those more expensive items you want that are probably outside of the budget for your friends. So, now rather than posting something like 'BMW M Series Car' for £16,000 (GBP) and hoping that a friend will get it for you, you can now set it up as a 'Contribution Item'. What this means is that your friends can make a contibution or donation towards you getting the expensive item. They can even print out a voucher for inclusion in your birthday card.
